In a small tea town of the 1980s and 1990s, Liu Guihua, a widow for five years, was called a "husband-killing jinx" by her in-laws and raised her daughter by collecting scrap. She used three years of savings to open "Gui Xiang Wonton Shop," which became popular with her skills—only to have her in-laws come to snatch the shop. At this time, Lin Jianguo, a veteran she once saved, returned home. He helped her get justice and fell for her strength during their interactions. When Guihua finally gained confidence, her abusive in-laws tried to leech off her prosperity—this time, she was determined to repay the humiliation with interest and seize her own "spring."
