Su Xiaoman, an intern assistant at a small company on the brink of bankruptcy, breaks into the CEO's office of Gu Group to save her company, only to mistake the cold and aloof CEO Gu Siyan for a "fraud trying to cheat investment" and scold him fiercely. She expects to be fired, but instead, Gu Siyan starts "pestering" her in every way—he won't sign documents unless she calls him "husband", and won't approve plans unless she joins him for dinner. It's not until Su Xiaoman finds her childhood photos that she realizes Gu Siyan is the "little crybaby" she saved ten years ago. The casual remark she made back then, "Wait until you grow up to protect me", he has remembered for a whole decade. When the company's bankruptcy crisis hits, Gu Siyan takes out the Gu Group's equity certificate he's hidden for ten years, smiles, and hands her the pen: "Honey, call me husband. From now on, all of mine is your fallback."
