Su Wan, a new investment bank employee, is the "good girl" in everyone's eyes—robbed of her projects and made a scapegoat by her team leader, betrayed by her boyfriend and best friend, and even forced by her mother to give her savings to her brother for a wedding house. Until she fainted from overwork and found her late father's diary in the hospital: "My daughter shouldn't live as someone else's shadow." Su Wan finally wakes up. She collects evidence of her team leader's infringement and gets him fired, dumps her cheating boyfriend and reclaims her money, and says "no" to her exploitative family. In the end, she secures a million-dollar project and becomes the youngest project director, and meets Gu Heng, a lawyer who appreciates her "unruliness". When those who once looked down on her come to curry favor, Su Wan smiles and says: "My guide was never about pleasing others."
