Lin Wan, a female doctor from a Miao village in western Hunan, fled her hometown three years ago due to the rumor of being a "gu witch". However, she resolutely returns after receiving a distress call from her childhood sweetheart Gu Chuan—Gu Chuan is dying from the "Twin Gu" curse, and the village's female disappearance cases secretly point to her old "injustice". While using modern medicine combined with Miao medicine to save Gu Chuan, she also uncovers the truth of her frame-up. Facing fear and tearing through the fog, Lin Wan completes her awakening from a "misunderstood weakling" to a "big heroine who controls her destiny" in the process of saving others.
