Chen Erguns, a straightforward rural guy nicknamed "Er Gun", makes a living raising local pigs. His quiet life is disrupted by Lin Xiaoman, a city returnee who rents his old house to open a homestay. Er Gun helps her fix burst pipes and deal with villagers' complaints, all while secretly loving her. But Xiaoman, once cheated by her ex, shies away from love. Er Gun uses his "silly" ways—bringing fresh oranges daily, defending her from doubts, even selling half his pigs to fund her renovation—to warm her heart. When Xiaoman finally realizes his feelings, Er Gun hides in the county to learn breeding out of inferiority. Xiaoman chases him down and says, "I'll wait for you to come back and 'liven up' the village together." They confess their love, then build the homestay and pig brand into a success, becoming the village's most enviable "entrepreneurial sweet couple."
