Su Wan, daughter of a censor, plots to "fake-flirt" Xiao Jingheng, the powerful and aloof Prince Jin, to clear her father's wrongful conviction—she believes this cold-hearted prince is the mastermind behind her father's death and intends to extract evidence through flirting. However, Xiao Jingheng has long seen through her scheme but plays along intentionally: he pretends to be weak to let her support him despite his martial arts skills, withholds the truth about the冤案 he's already uncovered to wait for her to find out herself, and even insists "I just don't want the plan to be ruined" when he takes a knife for her in palace struggles. When Su Wan finally discovers that the "enemy" she thought she had is actually the one secretly protecting her, and her "fake flirt" has long turned into true feelings, their mutual pursuit amid the power struggles becomes the sweetest twist—turns out, the best "fisherman" is always the prince who fell in love first.
