Lin Wan, a modern overworked office drone, transmigrates into an ancient rural “troublemaker granny” who’s loathed by the whole village—her three granddaughters are labeled “burdens”: the eldest was dumped by her fiancé, the second had her embroidery business stolen, and the youngest is called “bad luck” for her frailty. Seeing the little girls shivering in the firewood shed, Lin Wan snaps into action: she turns the dilapidated courtyard into a vertical vegetable garden for off-season crops, helps the eldest sell braised food at a stall, designs “viral embroidery” for the second, and teaches the youngest to identify herbs for her weak body. Just as life improves, the ex-fiancé returns with betrothal gifts, the merchant who stole business hires thugs to wreck the stall, and even the granny’s old rival comes to stir trouble. Lin Wan holds an account book in one hand and a wok spatula in the other: “Touch my granddaughters? First taste the ‘power’ of my braised eggs!” When the granddaughters become the “top braised food seller,” “embroidery shop owner,” and “little doctor” in the area, Lin Wan discovers—these three girls she took in? They’re all “hidden big shots”?
