Lin Chuan, a young country doctor from the mountains, returns to Taohua Village with the "Qihuang Secret Record" passed down by his master. As soon as he enters the village, he encounters his ex-girlfriend Su Qing parading around with the rich second-generation Zhou Qiang, mocking him as a "poor boy who only digs herbs". But this looked-down-upon doctor not only saves the village secretary from a sudden heart attack with acupuncture but also uncovers Zhou Qiang's plot to buy the village land at a low price—Zhou's father is bedridden with an incurable disease, and the only cure is exactly Lin Chuan's secret recipe! When Zhou Qiang begs for treatment in tears and Su Qing slaps herself in regret, Lin Chuan holds the hand of the gentle village flower Liu Yue and smiles: "I didn't come back to prove myself. I'm here to guard this land and the person I'm meant to stay with."
