In a small town of the 1980s-90s, Lin Xiaoman, the adopted daughter of the Lin family, was the apple of her parents’ eye since childhood. However, their biological daughter Lin Wanwan always struggled with the gap of “favoritism” — new sweaters were knitted for Xiaoman first, her parents chose a stable normal school for Xiaoman’s college entrance exam but asked Wanwan to study nursing, which was “tiring”. Wanwan’s grievances turned into a thorn, until she found an old photo hidden in her parents’ camphorwood chest: Xiaoman’s biological parents were the恩人 who died in a fire to save the Lin couple, entrusting their daughter before passing away. When Wanwan was still competing over “who matters more”, Xiaoman threw herself at a speeding bicycle to save Wanwan on a rainy night… An accident uncovered a 20-year secret, and the two sisters finally understood: The so-called “favoritism” is nothing but the gratitude their parents repaid with their whole life, and the “reluctance” deep in their bones.
