Lin Wan, an ancient book restorer, returns to her grandfather's old house to repair a damaged scroll about "wen die" (butterfly-kissing ritual) as per his last wish. One spring night, while working by lamplight, silver butterflies fly out of the pages—transforming into A Zhao, a butterfly spirit trapped for 300 years. It turns out "wen die" isn't a legend, but a ritual: only when the restorer kisses the butterfly can the spirit return to its place. Lin Wan falls for A Zhao's tenderness, yet notices his figure fades with each repaired page. Should she fulfill her grandfather's wish and set him free? Or selfishly keep this spring night's dream? When the last page unfolds, silver butterflies swirl around her fingers, and A Zhao's kiss lands on her forehead: "I never wanted to return. I just wanted to stay with you through this spring night's butterflies."
