Lin Wan, a cultural relic restorer, cuts her finger on a Warring States-period jade qilin during restoration. Since then, she dreams nightly of Wei Jin, a black-armored general who repeats, “Don’t touch the jade.” Stranger still, museum relics “come alive”: a bronze sword sheathes itself, a terracotta warrior’s fingerprint matches Wei Jin’s. When Lin Wan investigates the qilin’s secret, Wei Jin’s consciousness “possesses” her colleague. They learn the truth—thousands of years ago, Wei Jin died protecting Lin Wan’s past life, and the jade qilin is a “lock” forged with his soul. Lin Wan’s touch is now unraveling a millennium-old “fate-reversing scheme.”
