On her mother's death anniversary, 27-year-old Lin Xiaoyu accidentally returns to 2008, when her mother was still alive and the Wenchuan earthquake was impending. She tries desperately to stop her mother from going to the disaster area as a volunteer, but in the argument, she discovers the reason for her mother's persistence—her father had gone into exile for saving someone, and her mother had spent the rest of her life searching for the child he saved.
