28-year-old corporate slave Lin Xiaoman travels back to 1998 after an all-nighter for work. She stumbles into her 18-year-old mom Chen Zhaodi's sugar water stall—back then, Zhaodi was a ponytailed girl with dreams of the big city, not yet meeting the man who would trap her in a life of endless chores and regrets. Determined to rewrite her mom's fate, Xiaoman uses future knowledge to help Zhaodi run a street stall and invest in stocks—but her "genius plans" always backfire: buying lottery tickets with wrong numbers, or being called a fraud for selling "magic sugar water" (modern milk tea) to 90s locals. Just as Zhaodi opens up about her hidden dream of going to college, Xiaoman starts vanishing little by little… Is she a future savior for her mom, or an accidental variable disrupting time?
