Underachiever Lin Chuan accidentally discovers his deskmate Su Xiaotang is a hidden "gem"—top of the grade, skilled at fixing computers and cooking delicious meals, and quietly helping classmates without seeking credit. When he sees the school heartthrob about to ask Su Xiaotang for a project collaboration, Lin Chuan panics—if he waits any longer, his "gem" will be taken! So he launches his "trick plan": pretending to forget lunch to steal her homemade meals, shielding her from gossipy classmates, and intentionally writing wrong homework answers to get her help... Little does he know, Su Xiaotang has long seen through his scheme—after all, who would keep saying "I want to marry someone who can cook" every day and secretly replace his mistake notebook with her notes? When Lin Chuan finally works up the courage to confess, Su Xiaotang hands him a box of hot sweet and sour ribs with a smile: "Actually, I've been waiting for you to say that too."
