Office worker Lin Xiaoman picks up a "Death Note" one night, thinking it's her ticket to a better life—until she's bound to a sarcastic Reaper System! Using the note for evil deducts her lifespan; only "doing good with death's rules" keeps her alive. She's forced to help a delivery guy get unpaid wages (the greedy boss cries and adds a bonus) and protect an elderly person from bullies (the bullies kneel and call him "dad")—each act is a hilarious mess. Then she meets Su Wan, a doctor who can also see Reapers. Together, they fight a villainous Reaper trying to steal the note, but as they do good, they learn the note's true power: to awaken kindness in people. When the villain attacks, Lin Xiaoman must choose between keeping the note and saving Su Wan—and the system's ultimate secret is tied to her past life's regret...
