Lin Xiaoman, a jobless, debt-ridden office worker, finds Xiaotang—an amnesiac, gentle boy clutching a koi pendant—in an alley. Miraculously, since Xiaotang moved in, she’s won free bubble tea refills, aced job interviews, and even received long-overdue payments. Is this her “lucky koi” come to life? But soon, Xiaoman notices Xiaotang staring at fish tanks at night, or secretly using faint magic to fix her broken ceramic mug. The truth: he’s a koi immortal who lost his powers—he needs a “sincere wish” from a true loved one to return to heaven. Yet she’s already fallen for the boy who shields her from unwanted drinks, who burns ginger tea but insists on making it again. Now she faces a choice: chase the “instant wealth” she’s always craved, or keep the boy who’s turned her messy life into something magical—even without powers?
