A Zhao, the lamp-keeper of Fengchan Altar, has guarded the never-responding Sun God for a decade. On a snowy night, she finds a gravely injured amnesiac boy—his cinnabar mole matches the god’s statue exactly. He is Li Guang, the sealed Sun God. A Zhao hides his identity to help him recover memories, while avoiding her fate: to restart the seal with her own blood. When Li Guang remembers he’s here to end the earthly famine, he realizes the one he wants to protect most is the girl holding a lamp, waiting for him. With fate’s blade hanging between them, can this love across mortal and divine escape the curse that “those who love gods shall be punished”?
