Chen Bao, a community security guard, is publicly humiliated by his wife Zhou Min for being "useless"—she smashes his hot porridge in the market and demands a divorce. But no one knows Chen is the retired captain of the "Night Hawk" special forces team—he was severely wounded saving his comrades and chose to live incognito to guard his amnesiac wife (injured in a car accident). This "divorce farce" is a "true love test" he designed: he fears his past will endanger Zhou, and more importantly, he fears Zhou only relies on him out of habit. When Zhou finds Chen’s special forces medal and a box of medical records in his old suitcase, she realizes the "useless" husband has long poured his entire heart into the daily porridge and rice.
