Talented singer-songwriter Lin Xiaoman was on the verge of winning the "Best Female Singer of the Year" at the Golden Melody Awards, only to be set up by her best friend/agent Su Xiaoyu and boyfriend/producer Chen Mo—fake plagiarism evidence was exposed, and she went from "national talent" to "music fraud" overnight: terminated by her company, abandoned by fans, even her rental house was surrounded by anti-fans. Desperate, she hid in an old-town livehouse, where she was discovered by owner Fang Ming, who was captivated by the "brokenness" in her voice. Together, they released original songs under the name "Thorn Singer," and the lyrics about betrayal and redemption resonated with millions of netizens. When she stepped onto the Golden Melody Awards stage wearing a mask and sang "The Crown," moving the audience to tears, she took off her mask—those who once hurt her turned pale with shock. Finally, she walked through thorns with her song and put the crown that belonged to her back on her head with her own hands.
