Lin Xia is reborn on a cicada-chirping afternoon in 1988. With only five yuan in her pocket, she suddenly remembers "Haagen-Dazs", which will take the world by storm 20 years later. She steals her mother's 100-yuan dowry money and opens a "handmade ice cream shop" in the old alley of the county town—filtering milk with gauze and adding chocolate chips from a foreign trade store. Her ice cream is three times more expensive than ordinary popsicles, and neighbors laugh at her, saying, "It's a waste of time; you'll definitely lose money." Unexpectedly, when the school season arrives, middle school students crowd the door, and even vendors from neighboring cities take long-distance buses to stock up. Just as she earns her first pot of gold, her distant uncle comes to collect a debt, claiming her late father owed 3,000 yuan and demanding her ice cream machine as payment. In despair, she remembers the health product boom of the 1990s. Using the money from ice cream, she secures the regional agency for a Chinese medicine health product, dealing with low-price competition from peers while convincing her conservative father to support her. When her "nostalgic ice cream" becomes popular across the city and her health product counter enters the department store, those who once looked down on her are all wondering: What will this "girl who dares to eat crabs" "toss" next?
