Lin Xuan, a cultivator expelled from his sect, takes refuge in a desolate mountain temple with severe injuries, only to discover that the sealed Blood Qi Spirit Stone is on the verge of losing control—once it erupts, hundreds of miles will be reduced to ashes. To prevent this catastrophe, he founds the "Heavenly Alliance," but the five disciples he takes in are all "troubled souls": a young girl who ran away from the Demonic Sect (secretly here to investigate the Spirit Stone), a cold swordsman with an unavenged family extermination, a mute healer whose family was destroyed by the Spirit Stone, a greedy young Taoist eager to steal the Stone for money, and a wandering boy surviving on Spirit Stone fragments. No sooner had the team formed than the Demonic Sect chases them to seize the Stone, and the disciples' secrets are exposed one after another—the gentlest mute girl actually hides gunpowder that can destroy the temple? Lin Xuan must fend off external enemies, mend the trust between master and disciples, and race against time to find a way to purify the Spirit Stone. Under the leaky roof of the broken temple, can this "unqualified" group of master and disciples uphold the Heavenly Alliance's original intent and protect the lives of the innocent?
