Chen Mo, a descendant of the pre-Qin Yin-Yang school, hides in a suburban old house to turn his late girlfriend Lin Xiaoman into a zombie—fulfilling her last wish of "not dissipating after death." But his mystical practice attracts the "Special Investigation Bureau" (SIB), which handles supernatural cases. The agents mistake his ritual for illegal human experimentation and arrest him on the spot! Chen Mo struggles to explain, "This is my girlfriend's last wish!" while protecting the half-formed zombie Xiaoman. However, Su Qing, the SIB's cold leader, doesn't believe him and locks him in the "Anomalous Detention Room." Worse, the incomplete Xiaoman starts to lose control. Chen Mo has only 24 hours to return and finish the ritual, or Xiaoman will vanish forever... Can he convince Su Qing, or will he lose his beloved forever?
