Lin Yang, a modern corporate slave, was laid off and dumped. While crying in a second-hand bookstore, he touched a copper-locked "1978 Diary" and was suddenly sucked into Kaoshan Tun (a mountain village) in 1978, becoming Zhuzi, a poor young man—with a "Dual-World Shuttle System" on his wrist that lets him travel between modern times and 1978! He uses modern live-streaming skills to help the village sell unsold hawthorns, and opens a "nostalgic canteen" in modern times with 1978's native eggs—helping Zhuzi's family build a new house while fighting back against his former colleague who stole his project. But the system suddenly pops up a red warning: "Only 3 shuttle times left. Complete the 'Warm Task'—make Zhuzi's childhood sweetheart Xiao Xiu let go of her prejudice against 'city people', or stay in 1978 forever." Lin Yang panics: Xiao Xiu just found out he "can produce新奇 gadgets" and is staring at him asking, "Who are you exactly?"
