Lin Zhan, a former top special forces soldier, retired to a mountain village for three years to protect his daughter, believing he could leave his glory behind for a quiet life. Until his comrade burst in with urgent news—the border drug lords had returned, kidnapping villagers to threaten the military and even wounding his once生死与共 (life-and-death) brother. On one side was his daughter clutching his sleeve, sobbing “Dad, don’t go”; on the other was the sound of his comrade’s plea for help over the phone. Staring at the dusty first-class military medal on the wall, Lin Zhan finally grabbed the saber he hadn’t touched in three years. This time, he’s not coming back for glory—he’s fighting so his daughter can keep her peaceful life, for the land he once swore to protect with his life, and to rewrite a heroic, blood-boiling legend in the border’s swordlight and gunfire!
