Lin Xiaofan, so poor he splits instant noodles into two meals, is woken up by a milky voice calling “Daddy” one凌晨 (early morning). A cute, doll-like kid squats at his door, holding his old work ID and saying, “I’ve been looking for you for a long time.” At first, he thinks it’s a “burden” someone dumped on him—until the kid accurately reports stock codes, helping him go from losing all savings to earning his first pot of gold. From being a “loser” hounded by the landlord for rent to a “stock god” everyone in finance wants to meet, Lin’s counterattack feels like a “cheat code.” But the kid always talks to the stars at night, saying, “I’m here to fix your missing childhood.” When he finally saves enough to buy a school district house for the kid, the child points to the old photo album in his arms and smiles: “Daddy, look, that’s us when we were little.” Only then does he realize that the so-called “ancestral luck” is just fate returning the “home” he once lost—in the warmest way possible.
