Lin Shen, who was framed and exiled ten years ago for speaking up for villagers, returns as an imperial inspector only to find his mother starved to death because disaster relief grain was embezzled by corrupt officials! Neighbors warn him to 'stay out of trouble,' his first love begs him to 'save his life,' but Lin Shen, staring at his mother's grave, swears to tear down the 'iron curtain' hiding corruption—searching for burned account book copies, rescuing hunted witnesses, confronting the county magistrate who colludes with tyrants. Even in the face of swords and shadows, he will make those jackals who fed on the victims' blood kneel before his mother's grave and confess!
