Scholar Chen Mo accidentally provokes an ancient demon and gets marked for death. Fleeing to the sacred Longhu Mountain, he must pass three divine trials to gain the Taoist masters' help. Between a seductive fox spirit's sabotage and a stern nun's tests, Chen discovers his blood carries lost Taoist powers. When the demon king emerges to slaughter the city, he has one incense stick's time to choose: sacrifice himself to seal the evil, or embrace forbidden arts to become the next Demon-Subduing Heavenly Master.
