In the late 1970s, Gu Xiaoyuan, the "little tyrant" of the Pingcheng Machinery Factory director's family, was a notorious naughty kid—climbing trees for bird eggs, skipping school to play marbles, even teachers couldn't handle him. Until one day, Lin Xiaoman, a stubborn girl in patched pants, burst in with a firewood axe, claiming her grandfather sent her to be his "exclusive tutor"! From then on, Xiaoyuan's good days ended: chased three streets for skipping class, punished to carry water for laziness, even his hidden candies were confiscated with the "threat" of the axe. But gradually, he found warmth under Xiaoman's "fierceness"—she taught him circuit diagrams with scrap parts, stayed up late to help with homework, and even protected him by scaring off bullies with the axe. When the little tyrant became a "workshop assistant", Xiaoyuan suddenly wondered: why would this girl, two years younger than him, risk everything to make him "better"?
