Lin Chuan, an office worker struggling to pay rent, accidentally binds to a "Blind Date Duration Reward System"—earn rent or milk tea money by chatting with a date for 40 minutes. He thinks it’s an easy way to "get free benefits", but his dates turn out to be more outrageous than expected: a "socially anxious" girl who brings a parrot to talk for her, a fitness coach who forces him to do planks on the spot, a forensic doctor who discusses anatomy while munching on duck neck… Lin Chuan grits his teeth to keep going for the rewards, until he meets Su Xiao, who’s also "killing time" for the system. As they vent about their bizarre dates, they realize—the system’s real reward was never money—it’s finding someone who can laugh at the "absurdity" together.
