Rural guy Chen Mo collects scrap in the city to pay for his mother’s surgery, but accidentally activates a treasure-appraisal skill from a family bronze bell while recycling old furniture—allowing him to “see” an item’s authenticity and history. Soon, he finds his ex Su Xiao scammed out of her dowry by a scumbag with fake antiques. Exposing this draws the attention of the Zhou family, who plot to steal a national treasure celadon vase. To guard the treasure and help Su Xiao, Chen Mo uses his skill to uncover the Zhou’s fake artifact scheme and gathers evidence with his street connections from collecting scrap. In the end, he saves the treasure, ruins the scumbag, brings the Zhou family to justice, and transforms from a “scrap guy” to a “national treasure guardian” hired by the Cultural Relics Bureau.
