Chip researcher Lin Guodong spent 20 years in hiding to develop core technology. When he finally succeeded and returned home, his eldest son Lin Qiang told him his wife had died and his daughter had passed away young—then kicked him out for "ruining the family's reputation." Desperate, he met Xiao Tang, a young wonton seller in the old town, who took him in and always saved him a bowl of hot soup late at night. Until one day, Xiao Tang found an old photo in his suitcase and cried out "Dad"—it turned out his wife had faked their deaths to protect their daughter, while the eldest son had lied to grab the family fortune. When the truth came out, Lin Guodong realized true "peaceful old age" wasn't about fame or success—it was the 20 years his daughter had waited, turning into the warmest reunion.
