Modern office worker Lin Chuan stayed up late binge-watching a historical romance, only to wake up as Chu Zhao—the Qilin Prince of Chu! But this prince has long been exiled due to the fall of his country, and he’s just been captured by rebels who want to force him into castration to send him to the palace as a eunuch! In a desperate moment, he grabs a candlestick and kills the eunuch, but the blood from his stabbed thigh makes the rebels think the “procedure” is done. They send him straight to the palace controlled by his enemies. To survive, Chu Zhao has to hide as a “fake eunuch”: dealing with the queen’s tests, the chief eunuch’s suppression, searching for the military tally to restore his country, and keeping his “uncastrated” secret—until one day, while bathing in the imperial garden, he’s caught by Princess Anyang, who’s sneaked out. Her gasp, “You… aren’t a eunuch?” puts his disguise in danger instantly, and the shock and curiosity in her eyes add an ambiguous danger to this undercover game.
