Lin Mo, a history student who always ridiculed King Zhou of Shang's tyranny, wakes up to find himself transmigrated into the newly ascended King Zhou (Di Xin). Horrified, he's bound to the "Tyrant Counterattack System"—only by taking concubines can he gain power; otherwise, he'll be erased by Heaven. Determined to be a wise ruler, he's forced to comply after a thunderbolt warning. While handling the system's concubine tasks, he uses modern knowledge to reform the court. However, Ji Chang of Xiqi is plotting rebellion, and immortals from the Chan Cult are secretly scheming to destroy his status as the Human Emperor. Even the "concubines" assigned by the system have hidden agendas: Daji, the fox demon, seeks revenge for her clan's destruction; Jingwei, a maiden of Nuwa, is sent to monitor him... When Lin Mo uncovers that the system uses "taking concubines" to collect spiritual women's luck and help him defy Heaven, he decides to act as a tyrant in name but a true Human Emperor in deed. With power from taking concubines, he fights against Heaven, breaks the fate of the Investiture of the Gods, and becomes the only true saint in the three realms.
