Single mother Zhou Xiulan works as a delivery rider by day and a cleaner by night to save money for her son Xiaobao's heart surgery. However, a mysterious granny selling braised dishes at the alley entrance repeatedly stops her, warning sharply: "Your son is a lizard man reincarnated—he will eat his family's hearts when he turns one month old." Zhou dismisses it as nonsense, until Xiaobao has a high fever and convulsions on his third birthday, with grayish-blue scales emerging on his back. To her shock, an old newspaper from the granny reveals that Xiaobao's father looks exactly like a researcher who disappeared from the "Biogenetics Institute" ten years ago! When she rushes to find the granny for answers, the stall is empty—only a lizard-patterned jade token and a blood-stained note remain: "Meet me at the old steel mill warehouse at midnight. If you're late, your son will become a real lizard man."
