Lin Xiaoman (played by Liu Xinyue), owner of a dessert shop, is trapped in the same Republican-era dream every night due to an old velvet pillow left by her grandmother—in the dream, she is A Ruan, a opera troupe actress, and Young Marshal Gu Jingshen (played by Du Peiyuan) dies in her arms while protecting her. At an antique exhibition, she meets Du Heng, a CEO who looks exactly like Gu Jingshen. He snatches the velvet pillow and says, "It's time to pay the debt from our past life." It turns out Du Heng was reborn with memories of his past life—back then, he faked a "betrayal" to protect A Ruan from enemies, but Xiaoman, haunted by the "truth" she "saw" in her dreams, has resented him for years. As they fight over the pillow, they grow closer and uncover the hidden truth of their past. However, just as the truth comes to light, Du Heng falls into the same danger as before—will he risk his life for her again? Is this fate bound by velvet dreams an unbreakable curse, or an unfinished wish waiting to be fulfilled?
