Chen Mo, a down-and-out investigative journalist, goes undercover as a taxi driver in the old town to probe the truth behind his parents' death a decade ago. By chance, he meets Lin Xiaoman, a blind girl who keeps watch at the alleyway convenience store every night. Though blind, Lin can pinpoint the exhaustion hidden beneath his indifference—hot congee left for his late return, ginger tea handed over on rainy days—like a faint light in the night, gradually thawing his frozen heart. But just as Chen closes in on the truth, the killer from ten years ago reappears, threatening Lin's safety to force him to stop. Torn between the justice he's clung to for a decade and the only light in his darkness, Chen must make a life-or-death choice between redemption and protection.
