Modern office worker Lin Xiaotang dies from overwork and is reborn as a miserable village girl in a poverty-stricken mountain village in the 1980s—her father is paralyzed, mother has a chronic illness, her young brother can’t even get enough wild vegetable porridge, and the whole village is so poor they can’t afford straw shoes for market day. With her past-life experience in rural revitalization, she plans to grow off-season vegetables and start a handicraft cooperative, but the villagers call her “irresponsible” and a local hooligan tries to steal her supply channels. At the critical moment, retired soldier Gu Jingshen appears: he protects her from troublemakers, stays up late with her to calculate costs, and even shouts on the threshing ground, “Trust Xiaotang, and we’ll make money!” From being pelted with rotten vegetables to becoming the “village’s lucky star,” when Lin Xiaotang leads the villagers to earn their first pot of gold, she discovers that this quiet soldier has long written down every one of her prosperity plans in his notebook—turns out the sweetest counterattack is: “I lead the village to wealth, and you love me with all your heart!”
