Lin Xiaoman, an unlucky food delivery rider, is tricked by Gu Jingshen—who claims to be an "immortal"—into believing that "delivering food accumulates merit for immortality." Forced to take on odd "special orders"—bringing hot meals to lonely elders, helping lost kids find their moms, even delivering a lost calligraphy album for an old master—Xiaoman soon uncovers Gu's secret: he's actually the Star of Destiny, who messed up Xiaoman's fate book and caused his bad luck. Now, he's using the "food delivery scam" to fix Xiaoman's life. As they "scheme" against each other, they fall in love. But when Xiaoman finally shakes off his misfortune, Gu has to return to the Heavenly Realm. Is this "immortal-mortal trick" fate's compensation, or the start of their love?
