Xu Xiaoman, an office worker, just moved into an old community and adopted "Xiao Mei Qiu," a stray dog with skin disease. Fearing complaints, she hid the dog and worked overtime until midnight, only to be confronted by her cold next-door neighbor Lu Zhao—who held a chewed suit and demanded, "Either send the dog away or fix this immediately." To keep Xiao Mei Qiu, Xu Xiaoman was forced to start a "pleasing the neighbor" plan: sending homemade cookies, helping with parcels, and even asking Lu Zhao to be a "temporary dog sitter." During their interactions, she discovers Lu Zhao is a retired veterinarian who was cyberbullied for saving a dog, and Xiao Mei Qiu’s illness is linked to the dog he failed to save years ago... When the "disturbing puppy" becomes a bond, two wounded people finally learn to heal each other.
