Lin Xiaoman, a city-based aesthetic doctor, loses her license to a colleague’s frame-up and flees back to Taohua Village to run her grandfather’s old clinic. But chaos awaits—village girls are suffering from “folk aesthetic tricks”: rotten faces from wild vegetable masks, swollen cheeks from unlicensed injections, and Zhou Laosan, a fake peddler from the next village, deceiving them with “folk methods are better than hospitals.” Enter Gu Ye, a retired soldier and the village’s “flower guardian,” who begs Xiaoman to help the girls “heal and fight fraud.” As Xiaoman uses her expertise to treat the villagers and teams up with Gu Ye to take down Zhou Laosan’s den, their bickering (“You know nothing about aesthetics!”) softens into quiet care (“I’ll watch the clinic for you”). When legitimate aesthetic services finally come to Taohua Village, Xiaoman realizes: the most precious original intention lies in the countryside, and the sweetest love grows in the warmth of everyday companionship.
