Ah Ruan, a naturally lively young maid who knows nothing about "virtuousness," accidentally bumps into Emperor Li Zhao (visiting incognito) while helping a flower vendor escape soldiers—and is taken into the palace to "serve." The emperor tries to test her ambition, but she turns the imperial study into a "snack shop"; when a concubine frames her for pushing the pregnant Concubine Zhou, she takes the emperor to catch Zhou red-handed—Zhou is secretly taking blood-activating medicine to frame her; even when the empress dowager punishes her to kneel in the ancestral hall, she brings a folk heated cushion and makes the dowager cry with stories about her grandma. When the emperor presents the queen's seal, Ah Ruan shakes her sugar-coated haw and negotiates: "To be queen, you must eat breakfast with me every day!" As the palace is shocked, Li Zhao laughs and carries her to the phoenix throne—his "tests" have long turned into "affection," and Ah Ruan's "unruliness" is exactly the "sincerity" he craves. After becoming queen, Ah Ruan reveals: from the first time she saw him help the old lady pick up flowers, she knew she could "tame" this emperor—after all, the sweetest love is when I "act wild" in your arms, and you pamper me into the most spoiled queen in the world.
