Lin Yao, a community social worker, meets Gu Huai, deputy director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, during a poverty alleviation project. They develop feelings while researching in the mountains, but Lin Yao hesitates due to the gap between her small-town background and his high-ranking status—afraid of being labeled a "climber" and worried their love can't stand reality. Gu Huai is determined to turn "impossible" into "I'm waiting": he secretly arranges expert treatment for her mother's chronic illness, accompanies her back to the mountains to teach kids legal lessons, and even projects their poverty alleviation vlog on the community square for her birthday, saying, "My home isn't the piles of documents in the office—it's the way you smile under the green hills." When sincerity dispels the fog of class, Lin Yao finally dares to reach for the light that cuts through worldly judgments.
