Su Xiaotang, a top modern chef, wakes up as a "criminal's daughter" in ancient times—about to be imprisoned and executed by tyrant Chu Li! In panic, she makes crème brûlée with sugar and eggs from the kitchen. The sweet scent stops Chu Li's knife: "What is this?" Su Xiaotang coos: "Spare me, Your Majesty—I'll cook new dishes daily!" Soon, she takes over the palace menu with soufflés, pasta, and milk tea. But she discovers Chu Li secretly eats her hidden milk candies every night—turns out he was locked in a woodshed by his stepmother as a child, going three days without food, never tasting sugar. When she warms his stomach with red date and tremella soup, Chu Li hugs her: "Never leave—your food is only mine." But just as she expects a happy ending, she finds her transmigration necklace is linked to Chu Li's "life-death curse"—is her arrival to save him, or to end him?
