Lin Wantang, the notorious dandy Shizi in the capital, is actually a cross-dressed legitimate daughter of the prime minister's mansion. To escape the imperial marriage that would send her to the palace as a concubine, she spends her days playing the fool. But she accidentally stumbles upon Chu Zhao—the ruthless leader of the imperial secret guards and future emperor—covered in blood. To avoid suspicion, she hides him in her mansion. However, Chu Zhao refuses to leave after waking up and even starts investigating her identity secretly! To "play" the dandy well, Lin Wantang deliberately flirts with him: giving osmanthus wine, teaching him to fight crickets, and even secretly applying medicine to his wounds. She only wanted to lower his guard, but when she sees the increasingly burning look in Chu Zhao's eyes, she panics—Is this ruthless man really falling for her? Little does she know, Chu Zhao already knows her secret. Clutching the pearl hairpin she dropped, his cold gaze softens into tenderness—All he wants is her.
