Su Wanyi, the neglected legitimate daughter of the Minister of Rites, is kidnapped by bandits one night. She thinks it's the end, but the bandit leader turns out to be Crown Prince Gu Zhao, who's incognito investigating corrupt officials. The twist? Her green tea half-sister Su Rou'er, jealous of Wanyi's status, lied to the prince that Wanyi is a tyrannical bully who tormented her, hoping the prince would teach Wanyi a lesson. But as Gu Zhao gets to know Wanyi, he discovers her gentleness and resilience—she even helps him gather evidence against corrupt officials. Their relationship shifts from hostile kidnapper-hostage to mutual redemption, and Rou'er's schemes only bring them closer.
