Lin Xiaoman, an office worker, is entangled by a blood-oozing red rope after overtime until midnight—suddenly gaining the ability to see ghosts. Even more bizarre, three Xuanmen masters arrive: Gu Yan, a cold demon hunter who shields her from vengeful spirits; Wen Yan, a smiling feng shui master who insists on moving next door to "protect her"; Shang Lu, a charming ghost doctor who pricks her palm with a blood jade hairpin, saying "your blood cures me". But as evil cultivators hunt her down, Xiaoman discovers the truth: Gu Yan needs her to break his family's curse, Wen Yan wants to trade her for his mentor's life, and Shang Lu even wants to devour her "Yin-Yang Soul" to resurrect his dead wife! When the gentle mask tears, is she a "guide" or a "prey"?
