Gu Zhao, the Northern Town General, died in battle but was framed for treason, with his head displayed on the city gate as a warning. Su Wan, his wife who had always stayed in the inner chambers, learned the news. Clutching their token of love—the jade pendant—she ignored her family's kneeling pleas, changed into rough clothes, and hid the old dagger Gu Zhao used in battles. She resolutely charged toward the heavily guarded city gate—she wanted to retrieve her late husband's body and seek justice for his wrongful death! But under the gate, waiting for her were not only soldiers with sharp weapons, but also minions of the powerful whom Gu Zhao had offended. Even his former subordinates advised her, "Don't throw your life away." As a weak woman, how can she stand against the entire court? And what shocking secrets about the treason frame-up behind Gu Zhao's death will be uncovered as she pushes forward?
