Lin Xiaoman, an ad planner who works overtime until midnight, picks up an old phone at the subway entrance. To her surprise, the phone shows future snippets of whatever it photographs—taking a picture of a colleague’s coffee cup reveals her kissing Gu Shiyan, the group president, passionately by the floor-to-ceiling window; taking a picture of a client’s draft proposal warns her of a competitor’s underhanded scheme to steal the deal. She escapes workplace crises again and again with the phone, only to be cornered by Gu Shiyan in the elevator: “Ms. Lin, don’t you think your ‘prophecies’ are a little too accurate?” As the cold总裁 starts pursuing her with “check-in style” romance, and as the phone’s secret attracts mysterious stalkers, this game of “seeing the future through photos” turns out to be either a sweet treat from fate or a bait with hidden thorns.
