Lin Nanfeng, a bar owner, accidentally saves Su Liangzhi, a pianist who fainted late at night. This woman, as cold as a gardenia, makes him feel love for the first time. He uses his passion to melt her defenses, only to uncover her long-hidden secret: congenital heart disease makes her afraid to talk about “the future.” When Su Liangzhi leaves quietly to avoid burdening him, Lin Nanfeng searches everywhere in vain. It’s not until their reunion in the hospital a year later that she, lying on the bed clutching the south wind pendant he gave her, finally whispers the words she’s hidden for a lifetime: “Nanfeng, I fell in love with you a long time ago… but I was afraid it was too late.” A bittersweet love story where they clearly love each other, yet fate writes it as “too late”—every moment tugs at the heartstrings.
