Su Li, daughter of a convicted official, flees into the wilderness to escape a house raid and accidentally saves the unconscious, seriously injured Xie Zhao, mistaking him for an ordinary refugee. They rely on each other to survive the famine route—Su Li uses her wit to defuse looting by starving people, while Xie Zhao silently blocks hidden arrows and blades. Until pursuers' horses trample their tent: Su Li is stunned to find the “boy” who always saves the last bite of food for her is actually Prince Rui, the most feared royal of the dynasty! Xie Zhao's gentle protection hides a secret hotter than desert winds, and their sweet interactions amid life-and-death crises become the warmest light in the harsh wilderness.
